Here’s What You Need to Know About the 2025 Strawberry Festival

It’s a Berry Sweet Time to Be in Kokomo –

Summer in Kokomo doesn’t officially begin until downtown is filled with the sweet aroma of strawberries and the buzz of live music—and that time is almost here! The 2025 Kokomo Strawberry Festival returns for its 27th year on Friday, June 6, and we are so ready.

This all-day celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and whether you’re coming for dessert, the art scene, or just a good excuse to be out in the sun, there’s something here for everyone. Thanks to the Greater Kokomo website we have the full scoop on this must-attend summer kickoff!

🍓 Shortcake First? We’ve Got You.

Let’s be honest—we all have one thing on our minds: the legendary strawberry shortcake. It’s an iconic delight made with homemade shortcake, syrupy strawberries, rich vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. It’s a summer classic and an annual tradition for many.

But if you don’t love waiting in lines (who does?), there’s a sweet shortcut:
Advance dessert tickets are available, and they’ll help you skip the on-site ticket line!

You can grab advance tickets during regular business hours at:

  • Any First Farmers Bank & Trust location

  • All Kokomo-Howard County Public Library branches

  • The Greater Kokomo Downtown Association office in Inventrek Tech Park (700 E. Firmin St., Suite 102)

Get your ticket early, get your shortcake faster, and get on with all the other fun the festival has to offer. (Trust me—this is the pro move.)

🎶 Beyond Dessert: What Else to Expect

There’s a full day of flavor, fun, and local flair waiting for you, including:

  • 175+ booths with artisan goods, handmade creations, festival foods, and more (we’ll reveal the details on the vendors as that information rolls out, so be on the look-out.)

  • Live music and street entertainment filling downtown with positive vibes

  • The return of Artsapalooza, a juried art market with up to 80 incredible artists

  • Hands-on activities and family zones, including the ABATE Tiny Tots Motorcycle Experience

  • Craft beer & cocktails served throughout the walkable downtown DORA district

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. So bring the kids, your besties, or even your coworkers—this is a community party you don’t want to miss.

🎨 Get Artsy with the Plein Air Paint Out

Creative types, this one’s for you: the Kokomo Plein Air Paint Out is a chance to capture the day’s energy in paint. Hosted by the Kokomo Art Association, artists of all skill levels are invited to join.

🚗 Parking: Where to Go and How to Get There

We love a downtown festival, but let’s talk parking. Good news: it’s free and easier than you might think!

Here’s where to park:

  • Downtown Parking Garages
Two multi-level garages are nearby—one at Union & Walnut, the other at Superior & Union.

  • Public Lots
Plenty of free lots are sprinkled around downtown, especially near Main & Sycamore.

  • Street Parking
Available throughout the area, just keep an eye out for temporary no-parking signs.

  • ADA-Accessible Spaces
Clearly marked accessible parking is available in lots and along certain streets. Arrive early for the best availability.

Prefer to skip parking altogether? The City Line Trolley is your free ride with 5 fixed routes and 250+ stops. Learn more at City of Kokomo – City Line Trolley.

Pro tips for a smooth arrival:

  • Get downtown early

  • Obey festival signage for temporary parking restrictions

  • Walk or bike if you’re local—it’s a great way to soak in the festival vibes before you even arrive!

🙌 A True Community Celebration

This incredible event is made possible through the collaboration and dedication of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance and the Greater Kokomo Downtown Association. And the generous support of their flagship sponsor, First Farmers Bank & Trust. Their commitment to our community helps keep cherished traditions like this alive and thriving.

🍓 We’ll See You Downtown!

Whether you’re there to shop, snack, sip, or soak in some sunshine, the Kokomo Strawberry Festival is where it’s at on June 6. Come for the shortcake, stay for the memories—and maybe a few goodies from your favorite local vendors.

See you there, Kokomo! ❤️
